Driver’s License
OMAN RESIDENTS – All drivers with an Oman issued residence or employment visa must produce a valid, Sultanate of Oman issued driving license, no less than a year old. If the OMAN drivers license is less than one year old, then a supporting home country license which has been valid for more than 1 year should be provided.
TOURISTS AND VISITORS – Citizens with driving licenses from the following countries may drive in the Sultanate of Oman using their foreign license with a valid visit or tourist visa only. Note that the original license should be from the same country as the residence visa or passport of the renter.

Please note that customers with driver’s licenses that do not have English translation i.e.Japan, Turkey, China, South Korea are requested to provide a translation of their driver’s license duly approved by their respective consulate or embassy.
Drivers from countries which are not listed above may rent a vehicle subject to them producing a valid International Driver’s Permit (IDP) in addition to a valid foreign driver’s license no less than one year old.

Passport Information
For all Oman residents, a copy of the residency card or passport should be provided at the time of rental. For tourists and visitors, a valid Oman entry visa along with passport is mandatory.
Thrifty will ask for the copies of passport and visa to be shared at the booking stage in order to avoid issues at collection stage.
Method of Payment
A valid credit card in the renter’s name is required. At the time of vehicle pick-up, the estimated rental charges are taken upfront, and a pre-authorization will be taken as per the terms of the contract. The credit card must have sufficient credit to cover all charges related to the rental. Blocking amount depends on the type of car rented.
All Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club credit cards are accepted. Please note that debit cards are not accepted for security blocking however can be accepted for payments.
Credit Cards are preferred mode of payment, while cash and debit cards may be used when settling dues at certain Thrifty counters.
